What is in your sachets? Are they poisonous?Updated 18 days ago

Are Fresh Scents® Sachets Safe? What's Inside?

Quick Answer

Fresh Scents® sachets are safe to have in your home around children and pets. They contain vermiculite (a natural mineral) and fragrance oils made with both natural and synthetic ingredients. However, sachets are not intended to be eaten—always keep them sealed and out of reach of children and pets.

What's Inside a Sachet?

Every Fresh Scents® sachet contains two main ingredients:

  • Vermiculite: A naturally occurring mineral found in soil. It's porous, which allows it to absorb and slowly release fragrance over time.
  • Fragrance oils: Our custom fragrances are crafted by professional perfumers using a blend of natural and synthetic ingredients, including essential oils.

Our fragrance formulations follow global safety guidelines set by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA), and our sachets are phthalate-free, paraben-free, and not tested on animals.

Are Sachets Poisonous?

Our sachets are not intended for ingestion. While they are safe to use and have in your home, they should not be eaten, and the fragrance oils should not come in direct contact with skin, eyes, or mouth.

If a child or pet does get into a sachet, don't panic—but do take steps to address it. See our article: What Should I Do If My Child or Pet Ate a Sachet?
