What Should I Do If My Child or Pet Ate a Sachet?
Quick Answer
Fresh Scents® sachets are not meant to be eaten. If your child or pet has ingested sachet contents, rinse their mouth with water, have them drink plenty of water, observe them for any unusual symptoms, and contact a medical provider if you're concerned. We can provide a Safety Data Sheet to share with your doctor or veterinarian.
First: Don't Panic
We know little ones—both the two-legged and four-legged kind—sometimes get into things they shouldn't. We have kids and pets too, and we completely understand the worry. Here's what you need to know.
What's Inside a Sachet?
Our sachets contain vermiculite (a naturally occurring mineral found in soil) and fragrance oils. Our fragrance formulations include both natural and synthetic ingredients and follow global safety guidelines set by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA). While our sachets are safe to have in your home around children and pets, they are not intended for ingestion.
Immediate Steps
- If swallowed: Rinse their mouth out with water and have them drink plenty of water.
- If on skin: Wash the area with soap and water.
- If in eyes: Flush with water for several minutes.
After taking these steps, observe them for any symptoms or behavior that seems out of the ordinary. You know your child or pet best—trust your instincts. If you become concerned, seek medical attention.
If You're Seeking Medical Care
We can provide a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for any of our products and send it directly to your doctor or veterinarian.
Find it yourself:

A Friendly Reminder
To prevent accidents, always keep sachets out of reach of children and pets, and leave the product sealed in its envelope.
